I just wanted to ask everyone to pray for two families who are going through something very hard and unexplainable. One of the families goes to our church and the other family is the Steven Curtis Chapman family (he's a contemporary christian artist). These families both had little girls who were tragically taken from them.

The Grace family's little girl was only one. They (the mother, three children and dog) were all outside when the meter reader was there. Before he left, the mom gathered up all the kids and the dog and told the guy to go ahead and leave. But the little one year old, Avery, ran infront of the truck and was run over. Please pray for the siblings who witnessed their sister die, for the mom and father, and for the man driving the truck (it was his second day on the job).

Then the Steven Curtis Chapman family were outside as well, when their youngest daughter, Maria who was only 5, was struck by a car coming into their driveway. She was rushed to the hospital but went home to be with Jesus.

I don't understand why these kind of things happen. It seems so preventable! I'm asking why this happened even when I don't personally know either family and I'm sure they are as well. To lose someone so young and so innocent just doesn't make sense to us. I feel so bad for these families and it seems to weird that it same thing would happen to them both so close together. I don't know why it happened but what I do know is that God is still God, He still loves us, and He's still in control.

So please remember to keep them in your prayers and lift them up to the throne of God who is the only one who can give them true peace even in their sorrow and grief.

Everything Concerning You

This morning, I was reading in 1st Peter and I came upon this verse: "Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you". Sometimes, I start to worry about things in the future or how my life is going to go or is progressing at this point in time. Recently, I've been going through a bit of a rough time so this verse was comforting and a good promise to hold onto. I like how is says first, let him have ALL your worries and cares and then second, he is Always thinking about ME and watching EVERYTHING that Concerns me!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's great! Now, I just need to start living like I believe this promise is true, and as I just go stressed about something else while writing this, I know I have a long way to go....................

Global Warming

It seems that here in Iowa, spring has been springing (or at least trying to spring) for weeks now. At times it's seemed as if winter would be the victor! But thanks to Global Warming spring is finally here:) Those who went through the the Iowa winter will understand when I say "I can't imagine what this winter would have been like if it wasn't for global warming". I don't know how we could have dealt with the ice and snow and ice and snow and ice and snow????! In fact, we would probably all be in a full blown Ice Age!
So, I don't know about the rest of you, but us here in Iowa, well, we're fully convinced of how every things just warming up so much and we're so thankful for Al Gore letting us all know what's happening:).
(For those of you who didn't get it this last post is just dripping with sarcasm! It's just not the same without the voice inflections, is it?)

Heaven

In John 15 I believe, Jesus was talking to his disciples and tells them that he is going to prepare a place for them and that he'll return when he is finished. This is a pretty great promise! Just imagine a world famous builder coming to you and telling you that He was going away but he was going away so that he could prepare a home for you and that when it was finished he would come get you. Would you not look forward to it with great excitement! That's how we should be looking forward to heaven. Jesus has gone to prepare a place us and if it were not so he wouldn't have told us it was. There, there are many mansions!

One more thought, it took God 6 days to create the earth and the heavens with all their splendor and wonder! Everything from the miracle of a caterpillar becoming a beautiful butterfly to the way the stars and sun follow the path that the Lord laid out for them. So taking this into consideration just try and imagine how wonderful heaven is going to be when Jesus has been "preparing a place for us" for over 2 thousand years! It will beyond anything we can even
dream of!

Hello Everyone,
My Brother has been bugging me for awhile now to post on my blog since it's been such a long time! So I finally decided to sit down and actually do it! I didn't really know what I was going to blog but I've decided to let you know what has been going on in my life.

Earlier this year, I had to decide if I was going to go back to Singapore and Malaysia with the Bright Lights team. After praying and struggling over whether God wanted me to go back to Asia or not, my parents and I all felt led that "yes, he wants me to go back". As most or all of you know I had the opportunity to go to Thailand last year after Singapore and Malaysia and I'm so excited because I get to go back again this year as well. (Thanks to the Fongs for being so kind and letting me come and to stay with them again.) So I just made my airline reservation to go once again to the other side of the world and I'm really excited!

As you know the Lord didn't lead me to go to college after graduating in '05. I've been learning through the years since then that the Lord leads my life step by step. I've wondered if at sometime I will end up going to college but didn't know. Even though I'm not going to college God seems to be leading me to take classes that better prepare me for working in other countries. My family and I just finished a course called Perspectives on the World Christian movement. It was sooooooooooooo good and I highly recommend it. Now, it seems that the Lord is leading me to take a class on teaching English. I was thinking that I would most likely take an online course but it's now looking like I'm going to go to Wheaton College for a 3 week course. It's not final but it's really looking that that's what's going to happen. If so, I'm glad that I can learn how to teach English within a Christian enviroment.

So, that's a little glips into my life as of right now. I'll try and post sooner this time:)
