Grandma and Flowers

Hey everyone! I just thought that I'd write a little
something, wish everyone a Happy New Year, and
show you all a picture of my Grandma who I love
to brag up. :) I took this picture of her this summer
with her flowers she was sooooooo proud of.
She turned 92 this past fall and is still such a
spring chicken:).

Speaking of family, we just had some of our family
over today for Christmas. We had a good time and
of course we had more then enough food and candy.

We also had a really nice quiet Christmas with my Grandma
and I got my wish of a white one! About half a week
before Christmas the snow started melting and I was
afraid that there wouldn't be any snow, left so I prayed.
And the Lord was so kind to us and sent fresh snow
and lot's of it!

I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and a Happy New
Year! Ask God to really do some neat things in your life and
don't be surprised when you look back next year and He has.
Let's let Him use us this year in whatever way he sees fit.

Pictures

Here are some of my favorite pictures that I took in Thailand
at the Princess Mother's Gardens. This was on my 21st
birthday (It was a dream come true to spend my birthday
in another country) and I think that the Lord had my camera
in His hands because usually my pictures don't turn out
this well.

I love it how the flowers are in focus
and then how the pot is blurry in the distant
background and is off centered.

This one is probably my favorite. The focus
is really good and the water drops on the flowers
really add to it.

This one is okay. I like the water drop and
the bright red flower but the twig is sort of
annoying as I'm just noticing.

Let me know what you all think. I'd love
to hear your thoughts about them.
Thanks.

It's a Winter Wonder Land

Well, as most of you already know we have
a lot of ice here in the Midwest. There was
tons and tons of it all over everything. Including,
this basketball net that's in our driveway.
"Anyone for some iceball?"

Today the sun came out, so I decided to get some
pictures before it all melted away. As you can see
I got some but there is still a lot of ice on those
trees.
Below is a picture of our land by the road
and across the road is the park.
God's beauty is the best!

"Anyone for a swim"? Yes, that is a our pool
ladder. We kind of didn't put the pool away this year:)
But then again, we didn't last year either.

And then last but not least my favorite picture
of the day. I really like how this one turned out.

It is Finished

I thought I would share some thoughts that I've had during my quiet time. And I guess I'll dub this post and others like it "Kitti's Skratchings".

I was reading in one of the gospels where Jesus said that He had the power to lay done His life and take it up again. I was thinking about this and how He proved He did have the power He claimed by what happened when He was up on the cross. Picture Him there suffering and all the sudden He says "It is Finish" and then committes His spirit into the Fathers hands and dies. And then the Lord showed me that if He had the power to lay His life down, He could have done it at any given moment. He could have done it when He was shedding great drops of blood in the garden, when His friends deserted Him, when Peter denied Him, when He was beaten and mocked and suffered the pain of a crown of thorns being pushed into His skull, when He was struggling up the hill bearing His own cross weak from the loss of blood, and then when He suffered the excruciating pain of those spikes being hammered into His wrists and ankles. But He didn't! "He willingly endured the cross despising the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God" so that we could have eternal life. He waited to commit His spirit until "It is FINISHED"!

What's up with the Kitti?

Some of you have been asking me what's up
with the Kitti nickname. There's more to,
but I got it while I was in Thailand and
that's what the orphans called me.
It's easier for them to say than my real name.

What's been happening

Well, it's been awhile since I blogged, so since I have time and
the weather has been really cold and nasty out today I thought
it would be a good time to do it. I guess I'll just let you know a little
about what's been going on here since we got back from Florida.

Here are two little boys we babysit sometimes. The are so cute together
and they had a ball when we had them over recently. They are 4 and 3 (soon to
be 4) . As you can see from the first picture they love cars! They also
enjoyed running up our stairs and throwing objects over the railing.
(One of which is Snoopy but pronounced "Sloopy". So cute!!!!)

This next picture is of them and their tooth
picks. Probably not the safest thing for these little guys
but no wounds yet:)

My LITTLE brother. Okay, well... he's not so little any more!
I truly couldn't ask for a better one!
Love you Andrew!!!!

We had a good Thanksgiving. We went to my Aunt's in Walker,
Iowa. Her kids were there with their children and we picked my
Grandma up on the way. The food of course was good, and we
had so many desserts that we didn't even come close to finishing
all of them. Our family is pretty crazy so we had to play
kick ball in the snow of course (I passed) and basketball (which I did get in on).
It was really fun even if I did get stepped on a couple of times:)
It's pretty dangerous on the Baskerville, Ezell, and Kubik ball court.
We also took some time after lunch to go around the table to say what
we were thankful for.

Well, I think that's all for now. Feel free to leave me any comment
that you like.

Me and my second cousin.
